Understanding the Details of Dental Insurance
While the particulars of your dental insurance policy may differ somewhat from that of another one of our patient’s, there are some characteristics they likely have in common. For example, just like the insurance you carry on your autos, dental insurance also has a deductible—the amount of money you must pay out-of-pocket before your insurance begins to cover any treatment.
Once insurance starts to pay, there is usually a limit or annual maximum. Exceed this specific amount and the cost of service is your responsibility. On the other hand, fail to use the benefits that you are entitled to and they are lost; benefits do not roll over from one year to the next. Therefore, you do your smile and your wallet a favor when you schedule regular dental checkups and other covered services for you and your family in a timely manner.
If you have any questions about your dental insurance coverage, please call our office. Our staff will be able to help and can also provide you with an estimate of what your out-of-pocket cost will be for any covered procedure.
